An Incomplete List Of The Greatest Car Films

American’s adore cars and films, so what could be better than a terrific car picture? Here is a short list of some cool car films from the past, sorry if we missed your favorite.

From the year 1968- Bullitt. Starring Steve McQueen and Jacqueline Bisset, directed by Peter Yates. This film features one of the best car chases in film history in a police/action adventure movie. Also features a “must see” 390 GT Mustang and a Dodge Charger 440 Magnum.

The real thing from 1974 – Gone in 60 Seconds-This film features a yellow 1973 Ford Mustang named “Eleanor” and one more one of the best car chases in the 40 minute climax. Also features a crash course on the nuts and bolts of the car-pilfering industry. And you can never overlook the remake..

From 2000- Gone in 60 Seconds – starring Nicolas Cage and Angelina Jolie. Directed by Dominic Sena. Producer: Jerry Bruckheimer. With an famous group of actors and crew this remake is not about the talents of the famous players and crew but rather it is about the cars, fast cars, stolen cars, wrecked cars. This one is just about the cars.

From 1981 and 1984 successively. The Cannonball Run and The Cannonball Run 2. Prohibited street racing across country, featuring an unconventional cast of crazy characters who will do anything to triumph.

From 1983- the only horror movie listed- Christine. From the tome by Stephen King, so you know it can shock the bejeejees out of you. Starring a very hip but daunting and crazed 1957 Plymouth Fury.

And everyone’s all-time favorite from 1973- American Graffiti. Takes us all back to the summer of 62. Features an all-star cast before they became stars. Ron Howard, Harrison Ford, Richard Dreyfuss, Cindy Williams and Mackenzie Phillips.

And there you have a very succinct list of some very famous films featuring some very cool cars. We love our cars.
